The National Olympic Committee of Zambia invites eligible candidates from National Sport
Associations to apply for the ICCE Coach Developer Training Programme under the
hospices of the NOCZ.
Target Participants This training is for individuals who work directly with coaches and are responsible for coach education, mentoring, assessment, monitoring, or field support within National Federations, National Sport Associations, NGOs, or recognized sport organisations.
Applicants should be actively involved or expected to be involved within the next six
months, in strengthening coaching practice and coach development systems in their
organisations.
The programme is not intended for personal coaching qualifications, but for those who
will use the training to support and improve other coaches for sustainable impact.
Background and Purpose Zambia has hosted several Coach Developer Training programmes for participants from sport associations and organisations across Zambia and Southern Africa.
These Coach Developers have promoted learner-centered and athlete-centered coaching,
strengthening coaching practice and coach education across their sports.
The programme is delivered through a partnership between the IOC, NOCZ, ICCE, and the
Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sport (NIF).
It aims to develop another cohort of competent, internationally recognized Coach
Developers who will strengthen coach education and development systems within sport
organisations.
The course is designed to develop the facilitation, mentoring, assessment, and coach
support skills of current and future Coach Developers by equipping them with the
knowledge and practical skills needed to facilitate coach learning and support coaches in
the field.
