Foloko Congratulates Dr. Donald Rukare on Appointment as Interim Commonwealth Sport President

President of the National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia (NOC/CGA Zambia), Alfred Foloko, has congratulated Dr. Donald Rukare on his recent appointment as the Interim President of Commonwealth Sport.
This follows Dr. Rukare's selection by the Commonwealth Sport Executive Board to lead the organization until the next General Assembly scheduled for November 2025, where a new president will be formally elected.
Foloko praised Dr. Rukare’s appointment as reflective of his outstanding leadership qualities and steadfast dedication to the development and growth of Commonwealth Sport.

Highlighting their close collaboration, Foloko recalled his active support for Dr. Rukare's successful bid for the position of Commonwealth Sport Vice President in 2023.
"I am particularly delighted to see Dr. Rukare assume this critical interim role. His visionary approach and leadership capabilities will undoubtedly help drive the Commonwealth Sport community forward, especially as preparations gain momentum for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games," Foloko stated.
The NOC/CGA Zambia President also extended heartfelt gratitude to Chris Jenkins, acknowledging his significant contributions and dedicated service during his tenure as Commonwealth Sport President.
Foloko emphasized Jenkins' influential role, particularly in promoting Sport for Development and improving Para inclusion through impactful initiatives like the GAPS programme.
NOC/CGA Zambia remains fully supportive of Dr. Rukare’s leadership and looks forward to continued cooperation and shared success across the Commonwealth sporting family.
