HANDBALL TEAM READY FOR AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The Zambia under 20 Women's Handball Team is expected to travel to Guinea this week ahead of the Handball African Cup of Nations.


Team Zambia U20 Technical Director, Bwalya Chilekwa reviewed that all is in place for the girls who have been in camp for two weeks in preparation for the tournament.


He said the girls have prepared long and are ready for the games.


He expressed confidence that the team will perform according to a high standard and qualify for the World Championships in Slovenia this year.

The U20 team who are in Group A, will kick-off their first game with Egypt on the 19th of February 2022 before locking heads with the African Champions Angola the next day. Angola has been at the helm of the championships for 10 years. They will then face Burkina Faso on the third day of the championships.


The two best teams from the groups will automatically qualify for the Women's World Junior Handball Championships.


The African Championships will test the team's ability to be the first Zambian Team to ever qualify for the World Junior Championships which have been in existence since 1977 and take place every two years.
