In his presentation, Kambikambi highlighted the importance of integrating the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) into Zambia’s education system as a practical tool for nurturing responsible, disciplined, and inclusive learners. He explained how OVEP promotes the core Olympic values of Excellence, Respect and Friendship, while strengthening learner development through physical education and sport-based learning.

Among the key highlights shared were an overview of OVEP and its effectiveness, as well as a Zambia-specific implementation roadmap for 2026 to 2028, aimed at expanding Olympic values education across learning institutions and communities.

He also presented an alignment framework demonstrating how Olympic values link directly to Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) competencies, and how this approach supports Zambia’s education policy objectives.

The NOCZ Secretary General/CEO further showcased practical impact through Zambia-based success stories, including OVEP outreach at Mukamambo Girls Boarding School and community engagement initiatives at the Maheba Refugee Settlement, which have helped promote values-based learning, inclusion, and youth empowerment through sport.

The engagement at the conference underscored NOCZ’s continued efforts to strengthen partnerships with the education sector, while positioning sport and Olympic values as key drivers of national development and the formation of future-ready learners in Zambia.
