The National Olympic Academy (NOA), under the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), delivered the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) at Mukamambo Girls Boarding School, promoting the values of Respect, Excellence, and Friendship among students.

NOA Chairperson Mwape Zulu led the OVEP delegation, joined by NOCZ Treasurer Victor Banda, Programmes Officer William Sikapanda, and Athletes Commission Member Richard Mulenga.

Upon arrival, the team was warmly received by the school Head Teacher, Moses Simfukwe, who expressed appreciation to the National Olympic Academy for selecting Mukamambo Girls Boarding School as a beneficiary of the programme.

He commended the initiative for bringing the spirit of Olympism to the learners and enhancing their understanding of values-based education through sport.

The outreach benefited over 500 pupils, who actively participated in the sessions and engaged in discussions on the importance of Olympic values in daily life, education, and sport.

Speaking during the event, Mwape Zulu described the engagement as inspiring, particularly noting the pupils’ strong knowledge of the history of the Olympic Games. She further shared information on the role of the National Olympic Academy in promoting Olympism and implementing OVEP activities that support youth development through education and sport.

NOCZ Treasurer Victor Banda encouraged pupils to embrace both education and sport, emphasising the importance of balancing academic excellence with physical activity.

He also informed the learners that the NOA team would return to the school for an upcoming inter-dormitory Olympic quiz competition, which will further strengthen their understanding of Olympism.

William Sikapanda and Richard Mulenga led interactive discussions on how respect, excellence, and friendship shape the development of responsible citizens and future leaders.

The visit reaffirmed the National Olympic Academy’s commitment to promoting Olympic education across Zambia and empowering young people with life skills and positive values through sport.
