The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) concluded a two-day Safeguarding Workshop held from 1 to 2 December 2025.

The workshop, supported by the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF), brought together Single Points of Contact (SPOCS) from various national sports federations.

Safeguarding officers Prudence Nswana and Mwange Kampamba facilitated the sessions, alongside contributions from NIF Consultant Nchimunya Mweetwa and NOCZ Medical Commission Chairperson Dr. Chanda Shula, who led discussions on anti-doping measures.

Dr. Shula emphasized that the core principles of anti-doping are designed to protect the wellbeing of athletes.

He urged SPOCs to educate athletes on the 2026 World Anti-Doping Code Prohibited List to help them stay informed and compliant.

Kampamba encouraged participants to implement the knowledge and skills gained during the workshop within their respective federations, highlighting the importance of practical action in promoting safe sport while Nswana thanked the SPOCs for their active participation and called on them to continue championing safeguarding practices at all levels of sport.

NOCZ remains committed to advancing safeguarding initiatives across the country’s sporting landscape.
