The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 11 April 2026. Representatives from National Sports Federations came together to review progress, improve governance, and talk about important issues affecting the Olympic Movement in Zambia.
Victor Banda, NOCZ Treasurer and Chairperson of the AGM, opened the meeting with some remarks and shared a message from NOCZ President Alfred Foloko. President Foloko emphasized NOCZ’s ongoing commitment to good governance, supporting athletes, and promoting Olympism both in Zambia and abroad.

During the AGM, NOCZ Secretary General/CEO Boniface Kambikambi highlighted key milestones achieved in 2025, noting Zambia’s participation and performance at major continental competitions.
He reported that at the 2025 ANOCA African School Games in Algeria, Team Zambia secured one bronze medal in judo, while at the African Youth Games in Angola, Zambian athletes won three bronze medals in judo, tennis, and taekwondo.
He stated that the results reflected the dedication, discipline, and resilience of the athletes, which were supported by a committed technical and administrative team.

The meeting also addressed governance and affiliation matters, including discussions on the E-sports Federation of Zambia and other sports bodies intending to affiliate with NOCZ. In addition, the General Assembly ratified Ms Besa Chibwe as a NOCZ Board Member and Chairperson of the Legal and Ethics Commission, following her appointment by the Executive Board in line with the NOCZ Constitution.
Furthermore, the Assembly received and adopted the 2025 Executive Report, along with the audited accounts and balance sheet, and resolved to reappoint RSM Zambia Chartered Accountants as the Committee’s auditors for the next quadrennial period.
A key highlight of the AGM was the announcement that the Zambia Boxing Federation had successfully been accepted as a member of World Boxing, in line with requirements set by the International Olympic Committee. This development ensures continued participation of Zambian boxing in the Olympic and Commonwealth sport framework, including representation at upcoming events such as the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The AGM concluded with delegates reaffirming their commitment to unity, collaboration, and strengthened governance as NOCZ continues to advance the Olympic Movement and support sport development in Zambia.
