NOCZ Secretary General Urges Kajila to Shine at the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships

 National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi has urged Zambian taekwondo athlete Christopher Kajila to deliver a standout performance as he represents Zambia at the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, People’s Republic of China, scheduled for 24 to 30 October.

 

Kambikambi encouraged Kajila after visiting the NOCZ Secretariat to seize the global stage as a platform to showcase his skill, discipline, and drive qualities that have distinguished him among Zambia’s top rising athletes.

He advised Kajila to concentrate on excelling to start accruing crucial qualification points toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

 

“This is your time to show the world the level of skill and dedication Zambian athletes possess. Remember, many young athletes look up to you and would love to be in your position. You carry not only your own dreams but also the hopes of those inspired by your journey,” Kambikambi said.

 

Kambikambi reaffirmed NOCZ’s continued commitment to supporting athletes across different disciplines as they pursue qualification for international events, including the Olympic Games.

 

Kajila, who will be accompanied by his coach Japhel Simwinga, is expected to compete against some of the world’s best taekwondo fighters in Wuxi.

 

The Championships are expected to be headlined by five Olympic gold medallists from Paris 2024.

 

Kajila's participation marks another important step for Zambia in strengthening its presence in global taekwondo competitions and preparing athletes for future Olympic opportunities.

 

The NOCZ has expressed confidence that Kajila will represent the country with pride, discipline, and excellence, embodying the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
