The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia (NOC/CGA Zambia) has officially unveiled the team that will represent the country at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place in Scotland from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
The announcement was made on Thursday, 11 June 2026, by NOC/CGA Zambia President Alfred Foloko, who revealed that Zambia will be represented by 22 athletes drawn from five sports disciplines, namely athletics, boxing, judo, swimming and bowling.
The team comprises 11 female and 11 male athletes, reflecting the country's continued commitment to gender equality and inclusivity in sport.
Speaking during the team announcement, Foloko expressed confidence in the selected athletes, stating that they have earned the honour of representing Zambia through hard work, dedication and consistent performances in their respective sports.

He urged Team Zambia to compete with pride, discipline and determination while upholding the values of excellence, friendship and respect that underpin the Commonwealth Games Movement.
Foloko noted that the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will bring together approximately 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories across the Commonwealth, providing Zambia with an important opportunity to showcase its sporting talent on the international stage.
Foloko noted that the athletes' selection reflects their commitment, resilience and outstanding performances, which have earned them the opportunity to represent Zambia at one of the Commonwealth's premier sporting events.
Meanwhile, NOC/CGA Zambia Secretary General/CEO Boniface Kambikambi disclosed that preparations for the Games have intensified, with several athletes already engaged in specialized training programmes while others are scheduled to depart for a pre-Games training camp in Northern Ireland.
Kambikambi expressed confidence in Team Zambia's ability to compete favourably and contend for medals in Glasgow, citing the commitment demonstrated by athletes, coaches and sports federations throughout the preparation period.
He further revealed that NOC/CGA Zambia, working closely with the Zambia Boxing Federation, identified and engaged UK-based boxing coach Karl, who is currently assisting the national boxing team with technical preparations ahead of the Games.
"We are satisfied with the preparations made so far and remain optimistic that Team Zambia will deliver commendable performances in Glasgow. Our athletes have been working hard and the support systems being put in place are intended to give them the best possible opportunity to succeed," said Kambikambi.
