ZAMBIA ADOPTS CRMP AFRICA AS FIRST INSTANCE HEARING PANEL

The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) as the defacto National Anti-doping Agency (NADO), in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standard for Results Management, and in line with Article 8.1.1.1 of its Anti-Doping Rules, has appointed the Continental Results Management Panel (CRMP) Africa to adjudicate matters pursuant to NOC Zambia's anti-doping rules and thus ensure the right to a fair hearing by an operationally independent panel for first instance hearings.


NOC Zambia has confirmed, in writing, its decision to use the Continental Results Management Panel (CRMP) Africa as a first instance hearing panel.


This decision was made in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standard for Results Management, as well as in accordance with Article 8.1.1.1 of its Anti-Doping Rules.


The CRMP Africa has recently completed all administrative and training requirements and has adopted its Procedural Rules, which outline the panel's composition and operations.


The panel currently has 12 members from nine different countries, and a list of these members can be found in the Composition below of the CRMP:

Along with this announcement, a copy of the CRMP Procedural Rules For Africa has been attached.



Kindly note that WADA confirmed after changing to CRMP for first instance hearings, RADO countries can continue to use Sports Resolution -International Hearing Panel (SR-IHP) for appeals until the end of 2023. Procedural rules for International Hearing Panel have also been attached.


The adoption of the CRMP Africa as the first instance hearing panel is a significant step forward for NOC Zambia and will contribute to the fair and efficient resolution of anti-doping disputes.
