Margaret Natasha Chewe, born on May 23, 2006, is a passionate Zambian tennis player whose journey began at the age of five under the guidance of her father at Mufulira Tennis Club. From those early days, the tennis court has been her second home a place where she has grown, learned, and achieved remarkable milestones.

By the age of 14, Chewe was ranked National Seed No. 1 in both junior and senior categories, in singles and doubles. She has since collected more than 23 junior tournament titles, including victories at the ITF/CAT U12, U14, and U18 events, the Mufulira Open, the Mike Mambwe Open, and the Love-40 Tournament. At just 14, she became the youngest player to win a senior tournament when she triumphed at the Zambia Correctional Service Senior Tournament. Earlier, in 2017, she was named National Junior Tennis Champion.

Chewe has also carried Zambia’s flag onto the international stage, representing the nation at the Region 5 Youth Games in Lesotho (2021) and Malawi (2022), the All African Games in Ghana (2023), and the World University Games in Germany (2025).

Her tournament highlights reflect her consistency and dominance. In 2023, she won the Love-40 U18 Girls title and the Mike Mambwe U18 Girls event. In 2022, she was crowned champion at the Senior Mufulira Open and swept both singles and doubles at the Mike Mambwe Senior Tournament. The year before, she dominated the U16 and U18 categories at Love-40, Mike Mambwe, and the Ladies Tournament. In 2020, she captured the Zambia Correctional Service Senior Tournament in both singles and doubles. As far back as 2019, she was already making her mark by reaching finals and semi-finals at senior tournaments such as the Mike Mambwe, Mika, and Love-40 competitions.

Among her career milestones, Chewe was ranked National No. 2 in both senior and junior levels by age 16 and became only the second female player in Zambia to earn the National Champion title at an early age. She remains the most dominant player in the Girls U10, U12, U14, and U16 categories.

Her biggest tournament wins include the Mike Mambwe Senior Tournament, the Mika International Tournament (Doubles), and the Mufulira Open Senior Tournament.

Away from the court, Chewe is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Zambia. She has a passion for fitness and conditioning, reading tennis biographies and self-growth books, traveling, listening to music and podcasts, and spending time with family and friends.

Her leadership extends beyond competition. As an Athlete Commission Representative for the Zambia Tennis Association, she advocates for the welfare and growth of fellow athletes.

At the heart of her journey is a desire to inspire young girls across Zambia and Africa to believe in their potential and pursue their dreams.
