Foloko appoints Chance L. Kabaghe as OYDC Zambia Board Chairperson

The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko has appointed Chance L. Kabaghe as the new Board Chairperson of the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre for four years.

The appointment of Kabaghe was made known to OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre management on Thursday, 24 July 2025, during a meeting attended by NOCZ Vice President Nakaonga Kakoma, NOCZ Secretary General/CEO Boniface Kambikambi, and Sports Consultant Elias Mpondela.

Foloko expressed confidence that through Kabaghe’s networks, the sports facility will continue to get more support and partnerships for a facelift, which will see it continue being a haven for talent identification and development not only in Zambia but across the region.

In his remarks, Kabaghe paid gratitude to the NOCZ president Foloko and his executive members for the appointment, stating that the time to work is now and pledged to use his tenure to change and uplift the Centre’s outlook, which will be admired by other nations.

To begin his mandate, Kabaghe held a closed-door meeting with OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre management, and he is expected to chair his first board meeting in August.
