NOC/CGA ZAMBIA HOLDS INDUCTION AND ORIENTATION SESSIONS FOR NEW MEMBERS

The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia (NOC/CGA Zambia) held an induction and orientation session for the NOC Board, OYDC Zambia Board, and Commission members at OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre yesterday.


NOCZ Board members led by President Alfred Foloko were in attendance in addition to some of the newly appointed members of the OYDC Zambia Board of Trustees and NOCZ Commissions.

In his speech to the members present, Pr Alfred Foloko said participation in the workshop carries an important responsibility as it equips the leadership with the fundamental knowledge needed to excel in the execution of the NOCZ strategic plan.


"This induction is a vital tool as it is key to achieving the NOOCZ 2022 -2025 strategic plan objectives, therefore, in all the discussions and deliberations we are going to have, we should be very clear about our mission and our responsibility to stress the importance of good governance in sport and to disseminate and promote our values."


Foloko further announced that the NOCZ Board while seating during the first board meeting for the year 2022 held on Saturday 5th March 2022 re-appointted Mr. Simangolwa Shakalima as Board Chairperson for the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre Board of Trustees.


“Other appointments to the OYDC Zambia Board included Mr. Dan Chiteule (Zambia Boxing Federation and General Clement Sinkamba (Zambia Rugby Union) as National Federation Representatives,” he added.


He further stated that newly appointed members of various NOCZ Commissions for 2022-2025 quadrennial will be announced in due course.


The Institute of Directors (IOD) facilitated the induction session aimed at familiarizing the members of the NOCZ Board, OYDC Zambia Board, and Commissions with the principles of good governance and leadership.
