Lusaka – Wednesday, April 8 2020

STATEMENT BY MR ALFRED FOLOKO - PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE OF ZAMBIA.

On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), I would like to

thank all the Athletes and Officials for their patience and understanding of these

unexpected circumstances related to COVID-19, which have led to the

postponement of sports events such as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and

suspension of Athletes regular training schedules.

Even as we record no new cases in Zambia, the battle to eradicate the virus rages on.

Therefore, I wish them good health and resilience during the period of the

pandemic and urge them all to continue complying with the Government

directives in order to stop the spread of the virus.

Keep yourselves and your environment safe and healthy.

I further encourage them not to lose focus and continue doing their training and

workouts from the comfort of their homes.
