ZAMBIA HOCKEY UNVEILS AFCON KIT


The Zambia Hockey Association (ZHA) has unveiled the Ghana 2022 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) Kit for the Women's National Team.


National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) President Alfred Foloko graced the unveiling press briefing held at OYDC Zambia - Sports Development Centre earlier today.


Foloko has encouraged the team to go all out in doing their best at the tournament with a target of being amongst the top teams which will give them a chance to qualify for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.


He added saying that NOCZ will continue supporting Hockey and all the national teams through respective federations to ensure that athletes are well prepared and ensuring that they get the exposure and experience they need by competing in various international competitions.

Meanwhile, Team Head Coach Floyd Chomba has expressed confidence in the team stating that they have prepared adequately for this outing, and they will do their best to make the nation proud.


He has since called on the nation to support the team as they head to Ghana and thanked Government through the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and other relevant stakeholders for rendering support to the team.


The Zambia National Women's Hockey Team will be making their maiden appearance at the Africa Cup to be held between 17 – 23 January 2022.


Zambia has been placed in Pool B alongside hosts Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria.
